The Third Temple

| First, He fortold the complete destruction of the 2nd great temple |
| that had taken 46 years to construct. |
As Jesus was leaving the Temple that day, one of his disciples said, "Teacher, look at these tremendous buildings! Look at the massive stones in the walls!"
Jesus replied, "These magnificent buildings will be so completely demolished that not one stone will be left on top of another."
Mark 13:1,2
This prophecy was fulfilled some 40 years later in 70 A.D. when the Roman legions under the command of General Titus destroyed the Temple and much of Jerusalem as well. There has never been another Jewish Temple built in Jerusalem till this day.
Near the end of his time on earth, Jesus spoke about the Temple once again, but this time, he referred to it as though it would stand again. This is because he was foretelling an event to occur 2,000 years in the future.

The disciples came unto him privately, saying, "Tell us ... what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?' And Jesus said unto them,
"The time will come when you will see what Daniel the prophet spoke about: the sacrilegious object that causes desecration standing in the Holy Place (the Temple) ... See, I have warned you."
Matthew 24:1,2,15,16,21,25
The "sacrilegious object" Jesus warned us about in the prophecy above is a statue which the Anti-Christ will set up in the last few years of earth's history.
He will command that the entire world worship this statue (of himself!), and he will place it right in the great Temple in Jerusalem ... not the Temple the Romans destroyed after Jesus' death, but a 3rd temple yet to be built!

being driven up to the Temple Mount each year,
only to be stopped by the Israel Defense Forces!
Paul the Apostle also spoke about this future Temple and of the Anti-Christ to come when he wrote these words to the church at Thessalonica, Greece...
He will exalt himself and defy every god there is and tear down every object of adoration and worship. He will position himself in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God.
2 Thessalonians 2:3,4
Dear friends, can you see why it is so stunning to see the increasing activity occurring in the last few years as many Israelis prepare for the rebuilding of the 3rd Temple in Jerusalem!
