Iceberg Tips of Judgement

On Friday, October 17th, I found this headline on the Internet...

"A 6.5 magnitude earthquake struck Mexico's Chiapas state Thursday, sparking panic in the town of Tapachula..."http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=081016203526.n20w

Minutes later, I entered the search terms, "Mexico's Chiapas state and Christian persecution". Just as I suspected, I found dozens of articles all chronicling that area's persecution of the Christian population over a period of many years. Here's one example...

MEXICO CITY (Compass Direct News) -- Persecution of evangelical Christians in the southern state of Chiapas "is accelerating daily"... 200 cases of unresolved religious intolerance in Chiapas, including "threats, intimidation, and robbery or expulsion from their communities, or death." - http://www.christianpersecution.info/news/mexico

The reason I was not surprised to find these stories about Chiapas was because of a distinct pattern I have been seeing in the news just in recent years...it is a phenomenon I'm calling the  "Iceberg Tips of Judgment"! It refers to the uncanny connection between places that hate and persecute Christ and His church, and the disasters that befall them! Remember that 90% of an iceberg lies unseen... just underneath its tip!

The coming judgments of the tribulation years will likewise be far greater than these!

Here is a list of such events we have seen in just the past 4 years...

2003 - Earthquake in Iran kills 30,00

2004 - Indonesian Tsunami kills 270,000... Epicenter of tsunami located next to Aceh Province in Indonesia; the province known for its cruel persecution of Christians!

2005 - Katrina devastates New Orleans... the city of Mardi Gras, transvestite parades,
Voodoo Festivals and drunken orgies!

2005 - Earthquake in Pakistan kills 55,000...

2007 - Cyclone in Bangladesh kills 23,000...

2008 - Cyclone in Myanmar kills 78,000...

2008 - Earthquake in China kills 65,000...

2008 - Earthquake in Chiapas, Mexico...

The 6 countries named above have been persecuting Christians for many years!

While it is true that our God "takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked", it is also true that "vengeance belongs to the Lord". The prophetic significance of these "iceberg-tips of judgment" is that the recent increase in their frequency indicates to me that the time of God's vengeance is at hand. Since He never takes vengeance on His church, it seems logical to deduce that the time of our rapture is also at hand!
