In Sudan, it is estimated that over 1.5 million Christians havebeen killed by the Janjaweed, the Arab Muslim militia, and even suspected Islamists in northern Sudan since 1984.  A representative of the local government in Orissa (India) estimated that more than 500 people died as a consequence of the anti-Christian pogrom launched by Hindu fundamentalists (since 2008). In 2009, Christians must worship in registered, regulated churches. According to the Jubilee Campaign, an interdenominational group, about 300 Christians caught attending unregistered churches were in jail in 2004.

The Christian ministry organization, Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) defines a "restricted nation" as one in which...

"...government policy or practice prevents Christians from obtaining Bibles or other Christian literature. Also included are countries where government-sanctioned circumstances or anti-Christian laws lead to Christians being harassed, imprisoned, killed or deprived of possessions or liberties because of their witness."

VOM reports that in 2009. there are 52 restricted nations on the world map!

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, "How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?"  Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and brothers who were to be killed as they had been was completed.

Dear reader, I would need many pages more to document the dramatic world-wide increase of Christian martyrs just in the last 25 years... I hope you can see that Jesus' prophecy of what would happen in the last days  is being fulfilled right before the blinded eyes of an uncaring world.       

  The real question is...  "Do you have eyes to see?"
